Six days ago, Luke Smith was a typical teenager with typical teenage problems.

Now the fate of an entire world rests on his shoulders.

MMORPGs had stopped being a part of Luke’s life years ago. That is, until he tried Yvvaros, an online sandbox role playing game only accessible through the latest in virtual reality technology. The game sucked him in almost instantly. Luke discovered a world with new stakes, rewards, and philosophical complexities deeper than anything he could have expected.

The human experience exists on a spectrum. One person’s reality may be fantasy or even hallucination to someone else. One person’s sense of what’s important is even more subjective. As Luke quickly learned, it was hard to justify living in a world of rejection over a world of adventure, excitement, and connection. He began a new life in Yvvaros, just as vivid and maybe even more compelling than his existence in the outside world.

Earth has already been explored, and the next frontier is closer to home than anyone could have imagined.

The story itself was great if you're into this type of story. The only things negative I have to say about this book is that there were some characters that needed to be fleshed out a little more in order to give them more depth. The father doesn't have much depth to him and towards the end it looked like there was going to be more with him but it never panned out, as well as his friend. The other thing I would recommend is more proof reading just because there were some spelling errors here and there but nothing bad enough to take you out of the book. Keep up the work! I'm interested to see where you can go with your stories.

Yvvaros The Digital Frontier eBook Alex Mulder Reviews

Any gamer looking for a sci fi read should give this book a try. I was hesitant at first, since I generally don't do novels without many reviews (when I purchased it), but it looks like I'm not the only one that liked the book! A high school student decides to take refuge inside a 3D virtual reality world created by his own drunkard abusive father. As he starts getting into the game, it also grants him more confidence in himself and brings about a coming of age story for the characters. There are clear homages to the various MMORPGs, which gamers will surely appreciate.
Give this book a try. It took me back to my childhood days, which was a pleasant distraction.... kind of like Yvvaros was......
I wanted to like this but the crazy real world part of the book was just too heavy handed and unrealistic, the main character is basically used as a punching bag at home, at school and abused nonstop yet no teacher or authority figure including cops at one point ever asks him why/how he is so banged up. Mean while his crazy alcholhaulic father somehow avoids all scrutinee despite his mad ways. compared to that the fantasy world part was more believable.
Spoilers ahead
Also got to gripe about the main characters name, I swear I think he is just named Luke because the running gag is that at some point the mad party wizard is going to say " Luke I'm your father " I don't know if its lamer if he does or doesn't. Oh yeah and lastly the odds that Luke's in game crush is his best friends sister is also right up there.
A fun read
Yvvaros The Digital Frontier is very much in the LitRPG genre. If you're a fan of LitRPG you'll absolutely love this book, if you're not familiar with the genre, let this book be your introduction.
The story revolves around Luke Smith, a teenager who's friend Ben talks him into playing an online roleplaying game called Yvvaros. Reluctant at first, soon Yvvaros becomes his escape. The author does an outstanding job balancing out Luke's "real world" with his "online world" along with the progression of it. You get a full understanding of the character and all the how's/whys Yvvaros sucked him in. In fact, the author has a real talent for making all the characters instantly relatable.
There's a lot I could mention but I don't want to throw out any spoilers, so I will just end by saying I highly recommend "Yvvaros The Digital Frontier". It's one you don't want to pass up.
This was honestly an incredible book, with good pacing and proper depth for character and relationship development. The story follows a high school boy and his stoner friend on their journey into Yvvaros, an ultra-realistic virtual reality game.

For someone just getting into virtual reality dystopia, I found this book to be a very engrossing 3 hour experience. True, the philosophical undertones are a bit too direct and detract from the story quality, but for $3 there are many other things that I could waste my money on and get less entertainment value.

This author has potential. I'll definitely be on the lookout for his future works, and will be interested in seeing how he (or she?) develops.
Yvvaros, It reminds me so much of watching when my children would play Zelda or Final Fantasy or Assassin's Creed, plus its got the other stuff. Buy it
Although the plot was rather uncomplicated, overall the book Addressed the often asked question of "what if the gaming world were real?" In a most believe able manner. I
I am looking forward to the next book in this series
